Alfred J. Perrier, 100, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born in Easthampton on March 6, 1924, he was the son of Albert and Armantine (Malouin) Perrier. Al grew up in Easthampton and attended school there. He began work at United Elastic Dye House and then went on to a 30-year career at National Felt Company, retiring as foreman in 1982. Al was married in 1942 to Dorothy (Guyette) Perrier. They shared over 73 wonderful years together until her passing in 2015.
He will be dearly missed by his son Ronald Perrier and his wife Simone of Mashpee, his daughter-in-law, Joanne Perrier of Southampton and his brother Francis Perrier of Florence. He was a loving grandfather to six and had several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Al Perrier, brothers Joseph, Armand, Isaac and William as well as a sister Theresa Boucher.
He was also loved in the neighborhood in which he lived in Easthampton, where he was known as the neighborhood grandfather.
Calling hours will be held on Friday morning, October 25th from 9 AM to 11AM with a prayer service at 11AM, at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton. His burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital or Hampshire County Hospice.
