It is with great sadness the family of Barbara Anne Bergeron announce her passing on Friday July 7th. 2023. Barbara was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Stanlee and Eva (Black) Thayer. Barbara grew up in Cummington, Massachusetts and graduated from Dalton High School. She moved to Easthampton, Massachusetts where she raised her family and spent most of her life.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents Stanlee and Eva Thayer, her brother Clifford Thayer and great niece Addison Monska. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Drozdowski and son-in-law Kevin, son James Bergeron Jr., grandchildren Austin, Karissa and Ehren Bergeron and sister Linda Belcher.
Barbara worked for Pro Brush before becoming a loan collector at Florence Savings Bank where she remained for over 30 years until her retirement.
Barbara enjoyed gardening and quilting in her free time, but most of all Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family. You could always find her watching her children play sports even into their adulthood. Barbara always enjoyed the many adventures with her grandchildren which included many trips to the Holyoke Mall and vacations to Hampton Beach where so many great times and memories were made.
Barbara’s family would like to thank the hospice team for all they have done for the past three weeks. We would also like to thank all the wonderful CNA’s, nurses, and staff at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst for making these last six months a lot easier.
Calling hours will be on Thursday July 13, 2023, 4-6 PM at Boucher O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St Easthampton. Burial will be private.
