Betty Ann ( Fisher) Bergeron 1946-2022


Southampton, MA — Betty Ann ( Fisher) Bergeron, 76, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2022 at Baystate Medical center in Springfield. Born in Northampton, on April 7, 1946, she was the daughter of Clifford Fisher, Sr. and Pauline (Church) Turcotte. She married Paul Bergeron in 1964 and they had 5 children together. Paul predeceased her on May 7, 2021.


Betty worked at Manchester Hardware in Easthampton for over 40 years. Over those many years, many friendships were developed. Having relatives in the Northeast Kingdom, Betty and Paul enjoyed spending as much time as possible at their house in Lowell, Vt. Her loves included gardening, birds, crossword puzzles, games and baking. Betty enjoyed her family and filling the kitchen with her kids and grandkids.


She leaves her children, Scott and his wife Janet Bergeron, Paul Jr. and partner Jeanne Young, Philip and his wife Joanne Bergeron, Melissa Bush and her husband Curtis, Michelle Usher and her husband David. Her grandchildren Joseph and wife Lauren, Henri and wife Jocelyn, Paul III, Christopher, Haley, Emily and Autumn and her great granddaughter Claire, as well as her beloved dog, Gizzy.


Betty also leaves her brothers Paul and wife Sherry Fisher of South Carolina, Kenny and wife Mary Fisher of Leeds, her sisters, Jeannette Martin of South Carolina, Norma Dickinson of Tennessee, Esther Shirley of South Carolina, Jane Kulis of Easthampton, Bonnie Slysz of Easthampton, Rose and husband David Yates of Tennessee, brother-in-law Chuck Dunning of Florida. She also Leaves her brother-in-law Leo Bergeron and sister-in-law Marie Lynch both of Northampton. As well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by brother Clifford Fisher, Jr. and sisters, Eva Jacque and Joyce Jones.


The family would like to thank Dr. Henry Simkin for all the care he provided to both Betty and Paul.


Her Funeral will be held on Friday, June 24th at 10 AM from the Boucher – O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton, a graveside committal to follow in Westhampton Cemetery. Calling Hours will be on Thursday evening from 4-6 PM.
