Carol Ann McClellan, 80, passed away on December 9, 2022, while she was with her beloved husband. Carol was born on March 16, 1942, in Springfield, MA. The daughter of John and Caroline (Brzoska) Habicht, she was raised in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She studied nursing at Providence Hospital Nursing School, graduating as a registered nurse and later earning her BSN degree after her marriage and move to Easthampton, MA. She worked at Cooley Dickinson Hospital for over 45 years and retired in 2009. Carol was very active for several decades in her church at Immaculate Conception and later at Our Lady of the Valley Parish. She also volunteered at Angels Attic and the Take and Eat programs associated with her parish. She liked making pierogies, knitting and quilting, always sharing what she fashioned with those she touched with her warm heart and kind demeanor. Carol enjoyed traveling and visited Alaska, Hawaii, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, and many other places throughout her life. She loved the beach and created many happy memories with her family and friends at one of her favorite destinations. Carol was a caring and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother ("nana"). She leaves her dearest husband of 59 years Francis “Mac” C. McClellan; her daughter Lisa Boyle and husband David of Easthampton, MA; her son Steven McClellan and wife Maria of Westerly, RI; her daughter Laura Dolan and husband Joseph of Westford, MA; her son Scott McClellan and wife Heather of Bethesda, MD; and her brother John Habicht and wife Barbara of Michigan. Carol was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Habicht and Susan Rhodes. She also leaves her ten cherished grandchildren with whom she was very involved and dearly loved: Jeremy, Corey, Tierney, and Ely Boyle; Kevin and Meghan McClellan; Caroline and Jason Dolan; and Jack and Theodore McClellan, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends she treasured.
Her funeral will be Saturday, December 17th, beginning at 9:00AM at the Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant Street, Easthampton, MA. The funeral mass will take place at 10:00AM at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, and her burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
