Christopher Thomas Williams, 24, of Easthampton passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2024, at his home in Easthampton. Christopher was born in Northampton on September 5, 2000, and is the son of Sarah J. (Thomas) Williams.
Chris was an ambitious young man with big dreams and goals. He was in the last mile of graduating from college and planning his next race in life, but unfortunately fell just short of the finish line.
Chris was a caring and gentle soul who deeply cherished his family, friends, and mentors. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. Snoopy merch was his favorite collector’s item.
Chris had a passion for running. Running in the rain was his favorite, and he would frequently plan his runs for when the forecast was expecting rain. In just over a year, he crossed the finish line in 3 marathons, 1 half marathon, and several other smaller races.
Chris grew up in Easthampton. In his early years, he played several sports, but quickly discovered he could play soccer year-round. He graduated from Easthampton High School in 2019 and was a proud player on the varsity soccer team. While at EHS, he strived to excel in academics. In particular, he was dedicated to learning everything he could about Civics for the “We the People” class and national competition. He was even invited back after graduation to help the students prepare for their competitions.
Chris was in his final year at Western New England University in the Pharm D program. This summer, he completed his Masters level degree in Pharmacogenomics. He was working on applying for post-graduate residency programs and recently returned from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear in New Orleans to meet with the programs. He was actively involved in campus activities including mentoring and research. He was the President of the Pharmacy Class of 2025, President of Rho Chi, President of ASHP-SSHP, and a member of Phi Lambda Sigma. Most recently, he was a published co-author of an article titled “Assessing and Triaging Common GI Complaints” that was published in the December issue of the U.S. Pharmacist Journal.
Chris worked as a Pharmacy Intern at Baystate Medical Center gaining valuable experience and friendships that were contributory towards his studies and future goals.
Chris is predeceased by his Grandfather, David Thomas of Easthampton. Chris leaves his loving Mom, Sarah Williams of Easthampton; his grandmother, Carole Thomas of Easthampton; his aunt, Lora Thomas of Easthampton; his cousins, Nathan and Ayva Crosby of Easthampton; his great-uncle, Tony Motyl, and his partner, Yoshi Bird, of Easthampton; his cousins, Kat Motyl and Arianna Burke, of Easthampton; his nana, Mary Sullivan, of Northampton; and extended family.
