Dorothy (“Dorry”) Sadakierski passed into eternal life on the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, October 2, 2024. She was delivered peacefully into the arms of Our Heavenly Father. Born in 1963 in Westfield, MA to loving and faithful parents, John Henry Miller Jr. and Dorothy (Olejarz) Miller, Dorry grew into a beautiful and loving woman with many gifts she would share with the world. Throughout her life, Dorry loved things that grow, shaping others through her sweet, gentle guidance, her skill in teaching and nurturing hearts. With a love for gardening, she grew lovely flowers that reflected her talent in helping others to blossom into their best selves. After having completed her secondary schooling at Westfield High School in 1981, Dorry became a proud graduate of her beloved alma mater, Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, MA, obtaining her Associate of Science degree in Business, with an emphasis on travel and tourism (1983). Professionally, she cherished her promotional work in the cosmetics industry for Estee Lauder, leading others to discover their inner beauty. In her work for a local utilities company, she completed gas & electric safety education and outreach at schools, empowering others through the knowledge she shared.
An adventurous world traveler, Dorry visited many countries, from Austria and Germany to Spain and Portugal, but wherever she went, whether at home or abroad, she made an indelible imprint. She was touched deeply by things of eternal beauty that were crafted from the human soul, including theater, which she enjoyed taking in with her daughter. Above all things, Dorry treasured her family, extending beyond her natural family to include her parish family. A communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton, MA, Dorry savored the exquisite Traditional Latin Mass, in which she always experienced the transcendent Presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Living on to continue Dorry’s legacy are her husband, Stanley Sadakierski Jr., and daughters Kathryn and Jenna Sadakierski, all of Westfield, as well as many friends and relatives.
With a spiritual wisdom that reflected the depth of her soul, Dorry was a thoughtful confidante, a healing and gentle presence whose comforting, sage words enlightened minds, but ultimately, she spoke straight to the heart. Dorry was a vibrant soul whose light touched countless other souls. She illuminated every heart with joy and hope that flowed from her boundless spirit of love. Her faith carried her forward, and will continue to uplift us, as she joins the angels in watching over us with gentle care. With the example of her life, she taught fortitude, compassion, and exceptional kindness. Every moment with her was a blessing we will cherish, and hold deep within our hearts. A woman of prayer, Dorry was devoted to Jesus and Mary, whose love was the root of all of her friendships. A true mother, she felt deeply for everyone, devoting her time to creating special memories for all to whom were graced with the great gift of knowing her. These memories will be treasured forever, as her precious heart lives on in each person who loved her, and whom she loved so immensely, with a joy that went beyond the physical bounds of her heart. Dorry lived by her father’s motto to “live life to the fullest,” and in her honor, so will we!
