Gwen Marie Clifford 1985-2022

Easthampton, MA — Our beloved "Gwenniebear", Gwen Marie Clifford, passed away at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on April 18, 2022.

Gwen was always a light to others in her life with her smile, personality and charm. No matter what was happening in her own life, she always wanted others to feel better about theirs.

She was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on March 27, 1985. She attended Easthampton schools and graduated from Hampshire Regional High School in 2003.

Her forte in life was others. She went to work at BHN in various capacities, but always taking care of people. Her resume was rife with what employers are looking for: Gets along well with others,

Does her job to the specifications asked of her. She shared a story about leaving one night, when her shift was done, when she saw another's client who hadn't been properly put to bed. So, off the clock, she took the time to make sure that patient was ready for bed. She told it as an "isn't that why we are here?" question.

Later in her life, her Pepe and Uncle Tim needed her help and she did it diligently. No matter what it might cost her in free time. On Thursdays, she would cut up cheese and pepperoni, and bring it over to her Pep and Uncle. She once came home and shared how she had given her disabled uncle a shower, dressed him up nicely and put some cologne on him. "He was so happy! It gave him DIGNITY that he couldn't do for himself." She felt so good because she felt his happiness!! Gwen understood that it wasn't about convenience or inconvenience, but about doing right by others.

We give our thanks to our God for our daughter Gwen, and what she knew was important. Not money or status but what you do for others. She loved music. One of her favorite songs was Dobey Gray's "Drift Away". If you knew the words you would understand.

She loved the Lord and others. We know where she now resides.

She is survived by her daughter Mazie Reardon of Easthampton and Mazie's dad Brian Reardon of Holyoke. Her mom and dad, Denise and Richard Clifford of Easthampton, her brother Richard Jr. and his gal Bethany of Missouri, and their son, Gwen's nephew Colby Clifford of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. her older sister Christie King of Springfield, MA, her younger sister Molly and husband Matt Castleman of New Jersey and her Grandma Nancy Manseau of Ware, MA.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers Robert Manseau of Ware, MA and Michael Clifford of Lowell, MA, Meme and Pepe, Gloria and Fabian Korza of Easthampton, MA

She is also survived by many, many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides, special aunts and uncles and auntie Dee, uncle David and aunt Cathy who all loved Gwen. Her spirit lives on in each of us and part of our spirit is gone with Gwen.

Gwen's memorial service will be Saturday June 25th at 9-10AM at Boucher-O'Brien's Funeral Home 7 Pleasant St. in Easthampton.
