Helen Anna Furman 1937-2024

Helen Anna (Pitchko) Furman, 86 of Easthampton, passed away at the Linda Manor Assisted Living Center, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Helen was born July 22, 1937, in Hatfield, and was the daughter of the late John F. Pitchko and Anna Julia (Sadlowski) Pitchko. She was educated at Smith Academy in Hatfield. Helen was employed for many years at Northampton Gas Light and Electric and Northampton Manufacturing in Northampton, Molitoris Orchards and Riverside Industries in Easthampton, and later was employed at the Southampton Country Club, all while raising her family over the years.

 

Helen was a devoted mother who leaves her loving children Frank W. Furman III and his wife JoAnn (Burgielewicz) of Easthampton, John Furman and his wife Debra (Kirejczyk) of Southampton, Michael Furman and his wife Donna (Wheaton) of Easthampton; and grandchildren, Reverend Frank W. Furman IV; Rachael (Furman) Hahn and her husband Keen of Chelmsford; Matthew Zajac (Furman) and his wife Martha (Fahlgren) of Boston, MA; a  great granddaughter Florence Jean Hahn. and many dear cousins.  Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank W. Furman, Jr. (June 2017), a daughter, Anne Marie (Furman) Cyran, an infant son and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Easthampton, now Our Lady of the Valley Parish.

 

Calling Hours will be held Saturday, June 1st at 8:00 AM at the Boucher O’Brien Funeral Home on 7 Pleasant St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams St. both in Easthampton. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Easthampton.

 

In lieu of Flowers, Memorial gifts may be made in her name to the Our Lady of the Valley Beautification Fund, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton, MA 01027 or Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice, 168 Industrial Drive, Northampton, MA 01060. Our Family would like to extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Linda Manor for the kindness and exceptional care they provided to our mother over these past four years. We would especially like to acknowledge Ms. Emily Uguccioni, Director, for all support, kindness and caring she provided to our mother and family.
