Henry E. Hopkins, 72, of Easthampton passed away peacefully, January 1, 2025, at Hospice of the Fisher House in Amherst after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. Henry was born June 2, 1952 in McMinnville, TN, the son of Willard and Dorothy (Yates) Hopkins. Henry married the love of his life on May 18, 1984, Lori (Perzan) Hopkins. Henry and Lori spent 43 wonderful years together and were a testament to true love. Henry and Lori loved being together, whether that meant going out to eat (becoming regulars at many local restaurants!), and taking day trips. Henry was happiest with a fishing pole or guitar in his hands. An avid fisherman and a lifelong musician, Henry was excellent at both.
Henry was never intimidated by hard work and had an entrepreneurial spirit. Henry always desired running his own business and took business classes at Holyoke Community College. He then became a General Contractor which led to him starting R&H Roofing in 1987, a successful business that he was incredibly proud of. Henry’s business is still family owned and operated today. Henry is survived by his wife, Lori (Perzan) Hopkins and their two sons, Tim Hopkins and his wife Erin of Easthampton, MA and Seth Hopkins and his wife, Steph of Millers Falls, MA. Henry leaves his two daughters: Melissa (Hopkins) Marek and husband Bill of Easthampton, MA and Tracy (Hopkins) Facteau and husband Skip of Huntington, MA. Henry was always so proud of his four children and loved spending time with each of them. Henry will be deeply missed by his 10 grandchildren: Amanda, Ceriana, Abby, Becky, Jay, Janie, Scarlett, Lilly, Logan and Riley. Henry had 8 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind 3 brothers and 5 sisters, and many friends and family. Henry was predeceased by his parents and three brothers: Fate, Walt, and Conard Hopkins. Henry’s song has ended, but we all carry his melody for eternity.
