Lawrence D. Molloy passed away on November 17, 2021 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke, MA.
He was born in Easthampton, MA on January 22, 1938, son of the late Lawrence and Roxy Molloy. He is preceded in death by his wife Jane Molloy and son Brian Molloy.
Larry is survived by his son Kevin Molloy and his wife Sandra, son Stephen Molloy and wife Michelle, his daughter Kathleen Wuerth and husband Ron, and Stepdaughter Brenda Ethier and husband Gene. He leaves five grandchildren; Kyle, Joshua, Julia, Melissa, and Jennifer, and four great grandchildren; Ronan, Emily, Amanda, and Katelyn.
Larry graduated from Easthampton High school in 1955 and entered the Army for a 3-year tour where he graduated from finance and accounting school. He served in South Korea, Texas, New York, and Indiana. Continuing with his academic path Larry later graduated from Holyoke Community College and Williams College of Banking.
Larry served in the capacity of Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Vice President and Vice President of the First National Bank of Easthampton and subsequently served as operating President of BayBank First Easthampton. Years later Larry walked across the street and served as Vice President and Senior Loan Officer as well as Trustee of Easthampton Savings Bank
Larry was highly regarded by the community for his services as treasure of the Easthampton Public Library, Treasurer of the Hampshire County Heart Association, Co-Chairman of the United Way Commercial Division, Chairman of the Easthampton Development Commission; served on the Board of Directors of Riverside Industries and on the board of directors and treasurer of John F. Sullivan Housing for the Elderly, as well as serving on various municipal governmental committees.
During his life and retirement Larry was an avid golfer and he loved traveling and dancing with his beloved wife Janie.
Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton was entrusted with his cremation and service.
