Phyllis (Mozgala) LaCasse passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 8, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Holyoke, MA to the late Charles and Esther (Brouillette) Mozgala. Phyllis is survived by her daughters Laura Leonard (Roger) of Fairfax, SC; Tina Elmer (Rick) of Westfield, MA; her step-daughter Kim Dion (Dennis) of TX; grandchildren, Rebecca Sicard (Eric Rodriguez) of Guyton, GA, Jimmy Bruner (Zoey) of Savannah, GA, Emily Elmer of Vernon, CT, Hannah and Ricky Elmer of Chicopee, MA, Joshua, Jakob, and Jessica Elmer of Westfield, MA; great grandchildren Cole and Aloera Bruner of GA, Eric Jr and Isabella Rodriguez of GA; sisters Rose Kotfila of Chicopee, MA, and Cindy Leigh (Dan) of Palmer, MA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nephews and great nieces, her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Stallman, infant son Lawrence, sister Marilyn Parker, brother Felix Mozgala, brother-in-law Roger Stallman (Geraldine), nephew Robert Parker and most recently, her brother-in-law Thomas Kotfila.
Phyllis is well known for her love of butterflies and enjoyed her travel club and playing bingo. She retired from Dielectrics Industries in Chicopee. She absolutely loved Elvis music and movies and passed away on his birthday. We are sure she and Richard are dancing in heaven.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours Thursday, January 16, 5-7PM at Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St Easthampton. Funeral Friday, January 17th meeting at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd, Westfield followed by burial service at MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Down Syndrome Resource Group of Western MA or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
