Richard F. Burgielewicz, 81, of Easthampton, passed away on January 2, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA.
Born in Easthampton on August 17, 1943, he is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Burgielewicz and his adored mother, Alexandra (Krzynowek) Burgielewicz. Richard attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Easthampton High School. He worked at United Elastic and was a manager at Tubed Products. Richard served in the National Guard. He was a member of The American Legion Post 20, Woodsville, VT for 40 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. He enjoyed the Polka Party with Eddie Foreman each summer.
Richard loved the outdoors including gardening, hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He spent quality time in nature at his camp in Vermont. In his generous nature he shared his maple syrup, garden produce, Christmas trees as well as woodworking projects with those he knew. Richard was never one to sit still for long although you could find him socializing with his buddies at the Easthampton McDonald’s several times a week. He also loved watching sports in his garage with all the friends who stop by.
He will be dearly missed by his partner, Alyce DeLuco and her children, Kristen DeLuco (Tim Paciorek) and Heather Parker (Tim Parker) and their children Lauren and Colin; his beloved sister Lorie Boyle and her husband Jeff, along with their children Marc Boyle (Lisa) their children Lexi and Braeden. Tara Kennedy (Neil) and their children Mara and Jude. Richard also leaves a dear maternal aunt, Cecile Standridge of South Carolina. He was also predeceased by his brother John Burgielewicz. Richard will be missed by his extended family and lifelong friends. He was a loving partner and will be remembered for his kind, caring, and loving nature. Richard truly knew that it was more blessed to give than receive. He left us too soon.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 9th from 4-6 PM Richard’s funeral will be held on Friday January 10th beginning at 9am from the Boucher- O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Valley Parish at 10 AM, his burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
