Theodore (Ted) F. Tylunas

South Hadley, MA — Theodore (Ted) F. Tylunas, 81, of South Hadley, passed away at The Holyoke Soldiers Home after a long illness on July 11, 2024.


He was born in Northampton in 1942 to Theodore F. Tylunas Sr. and Sophie (Mushenski). Ted attended Northampton High School before receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration at American International College.


Ted served in the U.S. Army during the years of 1964 – 1966 stationed in Germany. He worked for Pro Brush in Florence, MA for many years and N&B Express in South Deerfield, MA until his retirement in 2004.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing cards and bowling with friends. His favorite activity was watching the Patriots with his son, Aaron.


Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elaine Gaynor and her husband, Patrick; and brother-in-law Frederick Wood.


He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Louise (Piper) of South Hadley, son, Aaron C. of Enfield, CT; brother, Gerald Tylunas and wife Patty of Hatfield, sister-in-law, Anna Wood of South Hadley, sister-in-law, Martha Caffee and husband Michael of Quakertown, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Boucher – O'Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton has been entrusted with his service.


In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to The Holyoke Soldiers Home, Holyoke, MA or the South Hadley Fire District 1 Ambulance, South Hadley, MA.
